Head Chef
Chef Javani King started a small private chef and catering company 12yrs ago in Houston Texas with the idea of creating the most savory morsel of food highlighting southern flavors in small bite form . Inspired by meals that came out of his Creole grandmother kitchen Javani created JKCO Catering +Events. While in college at Stephen F. Austin State University studying Interior Design his interest in food grew. After moving to Houston he attended The Culinary Institute of Lenotre and went on to create dishes for both NFL and NBA athletes, grammy award winning artist, fortune 500 CEO's, and local socialites and celebrities. Chef Javani's focus when in the kitchen and artistry went on to open the door for a slew of amazing award winning dishes and accolades.
King, formally served as the Executive Chef at Davis St. At Hermann park taking home 4 titles from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo best bites competition two years in a Row , Executive Chef and Creative Director of Dolce Ultra Lounge & Bistro, an Executive Chef Consultant for Live Oak Bar and Grill. He has won Black Restaurant Week Nosh Best Bite Completion 3yrs consecutively, won the Oxtail Mashup by project Row Houses in 2018. Javani has been featured on Food Network Chopped, Great Day Houston, Fox 26, KHOU11 with articles in Papercity Magazine, My Table Magazine, Houston Press, Houston Chronicle, Culture Map, Houston Business Journal, Eater.com and Urban Swank. He currently serves as Executive Chef of the newly lauded Cleo Lounge in Pearland TX.....with nominations as Best Black Chef and Best New Restaurant by Black Restaurant Weeks.
